Cleaning Your Windows Will Make Your House Look Better

By Terence Walters

A household chore that desires carrying out, window cleaning can offer a totally new look to any house, boosting the attractiveness by offering many beautiful, gleaming windows. Whether you hire a professional window cleaner or carry out the task yourself, there are certain things to consider when cleaning windows.

One of the first things to note when cleaning windows is the window cleaning solution that you are going to use. Mixing 4 parts of a widely known cleaning ingredient, for example rubbing alcohol, bicarbonate of soda or vinegar to four parts warm water, will give you a natural and effective window cleaning solution that may remove even the most stubborn of stains.

Deciding on what accessory to use for cleaning windows is often a stumbling block for some. General sponges are often recommended, whilst a chamois is favored by many. However, many professionals in the window cleaning trade typically say that any top quality cleaning material should suit the process completely.

Once the windows have been cleaned and are still wet, they need to be dried completely to ensure no streaks or water marks are left on the window. There are many pieces of kit that are available to aid with this, with the best being a squeegee. In principle simply a car windscreen wiper with a handle, a squeegee moves excess water to the fringe of the window, allowing for it to be wiped away or drained off.

For a long lasting shine, further to the windows being cleaned and dried, they need to be buffed with paper. There are many after cleaning products ready to supply a bright, shiny window, however none of them pretty rarely come close to the results that rubbing dry newspaper over the window can produce.

With the push to 'Go Green' around the planet, there are more and more organic window cleaning products becoming available. From natural sponges to window cleaning solutions being made essentially with organic and natural ingredients, it is simple to do this household chore while being ecologically friendly at the same time.

If deciding to hire a pro window cleaner, the number of windows in your place should be considered. If you live in a large house that has many windows, it may prove relatively expensive to have these cleaned on a consistent basis. However, a lot of window cleaners will simply clean the windows you ask them to, meaning you can clean the windows you can reach and the window cleaner can clean the more clumsy to reach windows, for example those above ground floor level.

Everyone has there own way of cleaning windows. Whether you are a pro window cleaner who cleans dozens on dozens of windows every day, or a homeowner cleaning their little amount of windows on a weekend, so long as the correct products and enough effort it used, any window should be sparkling in the sunlight thereafter.
