Get Fit With a Home Gym

By Chuck R Stewart

Currently the rate of obesity in America is higher than ever. This is in part to the abundance of fast foods that are high in fat and people that are living lives that are so jammed packed that they do not think they have time to exercise. Obesity isespecially high in our kids from learning poor eating habits from their parents and entertaining themselves with sedentary activities like television and video games.

Doctors are seeing increased medical problems from this increase in obesity as well. Diabetes , hypertension and heart problems are all frequent problems in people that are obese. How can we change this pattern? Make it simple for the overweight person to exercise no matter the type of the weather. To do this, they should convert their garage to a home fitness room that will give them the opportunity to exercise no matter what and to start changing their lives for the better. This article will describe the steps needed to turn your garage into a home gym complete with items like San Antonio insulation and San Antonio coatings for a great gym space, including the flooring.

The first step in changing your garage into a fitness room should be to get it completely clean and empty out all of the stuff that is in it. Then you should create a budget that will work for you and how many extra things you wish to have in your new space.

Once you have a financial plan present, you need to research some contractors to do the work such as in electrical, construction and flooring. Discuss your plan with the contractor to be sure that they have a clear understanding of what you want for the room. Before any construction of walls occurs, you must|should] make the room climate controlled. This may involve|could include] insulating since most garages do not have heating or air conditioning. This should also be the time to have the electrician come in to do all of the necessary wiring for lighting andperhaps a sound system to listen to music or view TV while you are working out. Once this is all completed, drywall can beput up. Many homeowners select to take the space where the garage door existed and make a wall with a window or two there instead. Natural light is a nice thing to have to make exercising that much more pleasant. Once the walls are all done it is time to cover the garage floor. Some great ideas for a gym would be to just spray a new type of flooring directly on top of the floor that will appear fresh and perhaps be a non-skid type of surface. Tile and hardwood are also good choices for a gym floor. Carpeting is not a good choice. For a softer area to use for yoga, some exercise mats that you can move around are the preferred idea.
